About Benchmarked Tools

Benchmarked Tools runs software and AI tools through the same task and writes down what happened. Each test says what we did, how long it took, what it cost and where the tool fell over.

We publish the method with the result, so a reader can repeat the test. When a tool’s maker is connected to our publisher, we say so at the top of the page and in the ownership note on the article.

How we work

Every article is checked against a source we can name before it goes out, carries its date and the date of its last change, and is corrected in place when we get something wrong. Articles are written by the Benchmarked Tools desk and carry the desk’s name, not an invented byline. About two articles a day is the most we publish on one site.
